Deformation of Outer Representations of Galois Group
To a hyperbolic smooth curve defined over a number-field one naturally associates an "anabelian" representation of the absolute Galois group of the base field landing in outer automorphism group of the algebraic fundamental group. In this paper, we introduce several deformation problems for Lie-algebra versions of the above representation and show that, this way we get a richer structure than t...
متن کاملDeformation of Outer Representations of Galois Group II
This paper is devoted to deformation theory of "anabelian" representations of the absolute Galois group landing in outer automorphism group of the algebraic fundamental group of a hyperbolic smooth curve defined over a number-field. In the first part of this paper, we obtained several universal deformations for Lie-algebra versions of the above representation using the Schlessinger criteria for...
متن کاملGalois representations
In the first part of this paper we try to explain to a general mathematical audience some of the remarkable web of conjectures linking representations of Galois groups with algebraic geometry, complex analysis and discrete subgroups of Lie groups. In the second part we briefly review some limited recent progress on these conjectures. RÉSUMÉ. Dans la première partie nous essayons d’expliquer à u...
متن کاملArboreal Galois Representations
Let GQ be the absolute Galois group of Q, and let T be the complete rooted d-ary tree, where d ≥ 2. In this article we study “arboreal” representations of GQ into the automorphism group of T , particularly in the case d = 2. In doing so, we propose a parallel to the well-developed and powerful theory of linear p-adic representations of GQ. We first give some methods of constructing arboreal rep...
متن کاملInfinitely ramified Galois representations
In this paper we show how to construct, for most p ≥ 5, two types of surjective representations ρ : GQ = Gal(Q̄/Q) → GL2(Zp) that are ramified at an infinite number of primes. The image of inertia at almost all of these primes will be torsion-free. The first construction is unconditional. The catch is that we cannot say whether ρ |Gp=Gal(Q̄p/Qp) is crystalline or even potentially semistable. The ...
